Start with the course that fits your qualifications and goals. Explore what to study, which language you need and how funding works.
A Korean language program is one possible starting point. It is not a compulsory step before every degree. You can apply directly to a degree program if you meet its requirements.

Learn Korean.
Compare language-center courses by level, term length, tuition and the support available to enrolled students.
- Check the starting level, class schedule and number of teaching weeks.
- Budget for tuition and living costs before relying on an award.
- Check whether a scholarship is for new students or students who have already completed a term.
- If a degree is your next goal, check its admission rules separately.

Korean-taught or English-taught?
Korean-taught programs
Check the Korean-language qualification accepted by the university and department. A TOPIK score may be requested; accepted alternatives and required levels vary.
Language-center completion and a TOPIK result are different qualifications. Use the one the admissions guide actually accepts.
English-taught programs
Check the English-language evidence required for your chosen program. Confirm which courses are taught in English and whether any Korean-language requirements also apply.
An English university website does not, by itself, establish that a degree is taught in English.
Admission and graduation language requirements can differ. Check both when comparing a program.

Check when an award becomes available.
The KLI scholarship page describes selection after at least one completed term, based on grades and attendance. It does not establish an entrance award for every new language student.

Separate study awards from progression awards.
This intake guide describes language-course achievement awards and a separate award linked to degree admission. Language enrollment alone does not grant admission to a degree.
Use this as a policy example and confirm the terms for a later intake.
